Military Helicopter Support Engineer

Protec Technical is recruiting a Military Helicopter Support Engineer for a permanent position with a leading rotary-wing aerospace business near Yeovil. This is an excellent opportunity to work on in-service support of military helicopter programmes, providing field and technical support to UK and international armed forces customers.

About the role

You will provide engineering and technical support for in-service military helicopter fleets, including Wildcat, Merlin, or Lynx variants. The role combines technical engineering expertise with direct customer engagement, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in demanding operational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for in-service military helicopter fleets
• Investigate and resolve complex technical defects and in-service airworthiness issues
• Support modification embodiment activities and manage technical queries from operator maintenance teams
• Prepare engineering investigations, technical reports, and airworthiness assessments
• Liaise with MOD customer engineering and support authorities on technical matters

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or EASA/UK CAA Part-66 licence (B1.3 or B1.4)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in military or civil helicopter engineering support
• Experience with Wildcat, Merlin, Lynx, or equivalent military rotary-wing platform is highly desirable
• Familiarity with UK Military Airworthiness regulatory framework (MAA, DEF STAN)
• Willingness to travel to UK and overseas customer sites as required
• UK SC clearance (active or eligible); right to live and work in the UK

Salary

£52,000–£65,000 per annum, plus travel allowance, pension, and healthcare.
